Dr. Hema John joined the South Yarra Clinic in Oct 2017. She is an experienced doctor with many years of General Practice and Obstetrics to her credit.

She graduated from the prestigious Christian Medical College, Vellore, in India. She has practiced in Australia since 2004. She has a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and provides efficient antenatal shared care. She is very capable of looking after women's health issues including gynaecological problems, providing advice about contraception and sexual health.

Dr. Hema John is a family doctor for many young children, and provides continued care, through their years of growing up. She is a fellow of the RACGP and provides comprehensive health care to all her patients. She is a good listener and finds great happiness in helping the patients who come to see her.

  • Do you offer Telehealth appointments?

    Dr. Hema John offers in person, as well as Telehealth consultations for your convenience. Initial appointments must be in person, but follow up appointments are eligible for Telehealth consultations, providing you have had an in-person consultation within the past 12 months.

  • Are the appointments Bulk Billed?

    South Yarra Clinic offers both private GP services, as well as Bulk Billing services which are partly covered by Medicare. South Yarra Clinic operate on a mixed billing policy, whereby new patients are privately billed for their first consultation, following consults will be privately billed unless under 16 years of age, pensioner or concession card holder. Our standard consultation fee is $69.95 where Medicare card holders are entitled to a ~$39 rebate. Long consultations are $122 with a ~$76 rebate.

  • how long are the consultations?

    Consultation appointments generally run for 10 minutes. If you need extra time or have several issues to discuss, please advise the reception staff upon booking, who will be able to book you a double appointment.
